It is time to start rethinking how we treat Positional OSA (POSA). Not only rethinking the assumptions about the diagnosis process but also the alternative therapy devices available to treat POSA. In this webinar, Professor Heinzer and Professor de Vries, reclaimed Sleep key opinion leaders, will discuss POSA, its prevalence and patient demographics, and the history of alternative mechanical devices to treat POSA patients.

Professor Heinzer, MD, MPH, is currently Associate Professor, Chief of Medicine and Director at the Center for investigation and research in sleep at the University Hospital of Lausanne. He is the Past-president of the Swiss Sleep Society and a board member of the Swiss Pulmonary Society. Dr. Heinzer has collaborated on numerous international sleep studies with counterparts in the US, Canada and the EU. He has published over a 100 articles in peer-review journals as well as the author or co-author on serval textbooks and book chapters. A highly sought-after speaker, Dr. Heinzer has presented at numerous national and international medical conferences
Professor Nico de Vries, MD, PhD is ENT specialist at OLVG West Hospital Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His special interest is diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in adults, in particular alternatives to CPAP. Research topics include Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy, Implants, OSA surgery, Positional Therapy, Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation, Combined Treatments, OSA and bariatric surgery, OSA and Anesthesia, OSA and biomarkers. Since 2014 he is guest professor at the University of Antwerp, Belgium and since 2016, professor of Dental Sleep Medicine in Amsterdam. He has over 190 publications in international and national peer reviewed journals, 70 book chapters and over 300 presentations.
